30 years ago today...
Mt. Saint Helen's blew her top! Although I was only 7 years old at the time, I still remember all the ash that came down (and we weren't even in the wind direction). I remember not being able to play outside for what seemed like a couple weeks (I'm not really sure how long it ACTUALLY was). And I remember having to wear a mask over my mouth and nose when going outside.
I went up to Mt. Saint Helen's several years ago when back home...hmm, maybe it would be good to go back for another visit when I'm back home this year. We'll see.
So, where were you when she blew? Do you remember?

I don't remember the day it happened. I remember all the ash. Driving around with Dad. There was ash everywhere and people walking around with masks. I remember thinking that it must be normal, like snow. It's funny what you think when you're a kid. :) ~Wendy
