This brings back memories of my teen years when we would spend the greater part of the summer and fall canning (beans, pears, peaches, tomatoes, pickles...) I don't know that I'll ever carry on this family tradition, but the pears were always one of my favorites. My job with canning pears was washing and inserting pears in the narrow mouth jars.
Mom - Send me a pic of your new venture (cheese) and I'll post that one too!
Join in the fun on this Wordless Wednesday!

Wow that's a lot of pears!
I totally will can with you! I think Dirkey and I should come over to your house and you can school us. It would be fun to have a big canning party. With booze of course. hehe
Well, we'd definitely need to stock up on some supplies, but that sounds like lots of fun! I actually have a canning book too and can ask my mom for her top secret hints:)
We canned to. Each year my dad's girlfriend would mostly use us as slave labour for her week-long canning project. ;) I did enjoy it though because on special occasions we would break open some pickeled carrots. Sounds gross, right? Wrong. They were delicious!
Canned pears sound so good right now... :)
